I am a three-time graduate of Union College in Barbourville, KY, and have earned the following degrees:
*Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education with emphasis areas in math and social studies,
*Master of Arts in Middle Grades Education
*Rank 1 in Instructional Supervision
The first eleven years of my career were spent at Boone Elementary, a grades K-8 school in Knox County, KY. Over the course of my time at Boone, I taught math in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8; social studies in grades 5 and 6; and was facilitator of the Success for All reading program. In 2000, the district selected me as the middle school teacher recipient of the Campbellsville University Excellence in Teaching award.
The last twelve years, Williamsburg Independent has been my home. Since arriving here in 2005, I have taught math in grades 3, 6, 7, and 8; social studies in grades 6 and 8 (civics only); and reading in grade 6. My assignment for the last five years has been seventh and eighth grade mathematics.
Although I am not a native of Whitley County nor a graduate of Williamsburg Independent, Williamsburg still feels like home. The small school atmosphere and the pride in one's self, family, school, and community that is promoted here and branded "Jacket Pride" is impossible to resist! I am proud of our school and thankful to work among the most dedicated teachers, administrators, and support staff in the profession to diligently serve our students and families.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and pets. I am often found at school events/games cheering on my son, Kevin (who has attended Williamsburg since preschool), and just supporting my students, past and present. When I get home, four dogs and a cat are waiting to see me. My husband, Mark, my son, Kevin, and I reside in Barbourville.
