WILLIAMSBURG, KY.-Williamsburg High School's track and field teams delivered outstanding performances at the KHSAA Class 1A Region 6 Track & Field Championship. Both the girls and boys teams showcased exceptional talent and determination, earning runner-up finishes at the regional level with numerous athletes earning state qualification and regional honors.
Eight female athletes have qualified for the state competition: Kaylee Rains, Tatum Croley, Lynsie Durham, Rylie Davis, Abigail Workman, Bella Jeffries, Makena Stephens, and Savannah Dabney. Among these qualifiers, several earned region champion titles. Kaylee Rains claimed the region championship in the 300m hurdles, while Tatum Croley dominated the distance events, winning both the 1600m and 3200m races. The 4x100m relay team also took the region title, with Lynsie Durham, Bella Jeffries, Kaylee Rains, and Abigail Workman combining for the victory.
Nine male athletes have qualified for the state competition: Zyler Housekeeper, Zaden Housekeeper, Gary Tye, Peyton Hamilton, Ethan Moses, Chase Meddles, Eli Meadors, Landin Miller, and Lane Jeffries. Lane Jeffries earned region champion honors in two events, claiming titles in both the long jump and triple jump.
These impressive performances at the Region 6 Championship showcase the talent and dedication of both Williamsburg High School teams as they advance to state competition.
