KHSAA Class 1A Outdoor Track & Field State Championship

LEXINGTON, KY-The Williamsburg City School Track & Field Boys and Girls Team delivered impressive results at the KHSAA Class 1A Outdoor Track & Field State Championship held on May 21, 2026, showcasing the hard work and dedication of both programs at Kentucky's premier athletic competition.

Among the team's standout performances, Zyler Housekeeper claimed the state title in pole vault, winning back-to-back state titles and cementing his second consecutive championship. This victory represents the pinnacle of athletic achievement at the Class 1A level and reflects countless hours of training and commitment from our boys program.

The boys program's success extended across multiple events. Lane Jeffries finished as State Runner-Up in the triple jump, delivering a strong performance at the state championship. Meanwhile, Chase Meddles earned a podium finish with a 4th place showing in the long jump, demonstrating consistent excellence throughout the season.

The girls program also showcased remarkable performances across multiple events. Kaylee Rains demonstrated her versatility across the hurdles, placing 7th in the 100-meter hurdles and earning a 5th place finish in the 300-meter hurdles. The 4x100-meter relay team of Lynsie Durham, Bella Jeffries, Kaylee Rains, and Abigail Workman competed at the state level, finishing in 8th place in a field of the state's fastest relay teams.

Williamsburg City School congratulates all student athletes and coaches from both programs on this phenomenal season. With back-to-back state titles, multiple podium finishes, and strong relay performances, the team has demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment. This momentum positions both programs for continued excellence and greater achievements ahead.
